Today is the first post to my blog. I have always loved to write and don't really know why I waited until July 14, 2010 to start, but here I am.
I don't know if anyone will read this or even be interested in what a 46 year old woman from the San Francisco Bay Area has to say, but I thought that if there is something on my mind worth writing down, there might be someone else out there with something to add. (I love the concept)
This morning, I woke up to find a nail/screw in my tire........"oh great" I thought. I went to the local Firestone dealer where I always bring my car and they were so nice. They got the tire fixed even before they started on any of their morning pre-scheduled appointments and then didn't charge anything. I don't know about anyone else, but that was enough to turn it all around for me. What I thought was going to be a bad day was made better by a very simple
"no charge" and a "thank you" by the nice guys at Firestone.
I'm sure I am not the only female that is leery about taking her car in to just any mechanic. Why is it that some auto mechanics (knowing that most women don't know very much about cars) try to "talk you in to needing badly" all kinds of repairs and services that you just don't need? I mean really.
There should be a list of mechanics, and businesses that are completely on the "up and up".
I am a single woman that works just as hard for my money as the next person, so it would be cool to start networking and refer other women (or men) to businesses that are honest and not out to "stick it to ya".
Please, let me know what you think.
This was my first time on the soap box and I have to tell you, it felt good.
